Halloween 2025 Costuming Project from concept to execution.
The idea was to place the classic Greek mythological figures of Hades and Persephone in a western aesthetic. Every piece of the costume was touched on, from engraving rings and belt buckles, upcycling and sewing, or even creating headpieces and jewelry. I sourced the Persephone petticoat along with the Hades jacket and hat from Iguana Vintage Clothing in Downtown LA. The Hades shirt was thrifted from another location, and the Hades pants were purchased new. On the other hand the Persephone vest, arm bracers, neckerchief, and petals were all patterned and handmade. From there I employed fabric painting, beading, silk dye, sequinning, and DIY spray paint and fabric distressing techniques to bring the characters to life.

After 68.5 hours of work on the costumes we were ready to shoot in Joshua Tree National Park to place the characters in their world. All respect to my photographer Jade Almsberger and my models Gillian Guthrie and Nathan Bowden for allowing me to take over their plans
